My last box on $100 was really a good box, but the one I did last night was ok, with 2 silver war 1942P and 1942S along with another 1937 Buffalo. There were quite a few prior 1960 as well, some in very good condition-bright and shiny! I really have been just putting all the prior 1960 in a cup and I have a full 9 oz cup and the silver and Buffalo are not in it. I have gone through about $614 woth of nickels so far and have 16 buffalo and 10 silver, 2 prior 1982 Canadian, some other foreign coins (including a UAE coin) I will be making up my collection books. I wanted to wait until I had the coins to fill them up for the most part and in good condition! I do have about 15 rolls of 1964!

Panicked that I wan't going to get my 1/2 dollar boxes for a while and so I sorted a box of nickels. Only found one War Nickel. Wish I could say that it killed some of my enthusiasm, but finding that single nickel was as good as any drug on earth IMO for a beginner at least!

Yes, it's like winning the lottery! One box I had 9 Buffalo and 4 War (2 in the same roll) They were every so many rolls-a buffalo or silver so finding them was fun! My son is going to try to get some halves for me today. Hopefully the bank will have some. I have had no luck getting them. I have been lucky in finding many older nickels, this will allow me to fill up a few collectors books and do it with my grandson! Better than watching TV or playing with an ipod!

$100 of nickels today gave up:
2 proofs: 1968S, and 1976S. 2 semi-keys: 1948S, 1955 Plain (my 3rd '55 in 5 boxes!)

is a 55 plain just a 1955 philli coin? or is it a special variety?

Philadelphia 'P' was not on the coins back then (except the War Nickels) I'm not sure of the exact year the 'P' was placed on nickels. The 1955 without a mintmark is Philadelphia.

Found a well-worn 1943-S in a pair of rolls I bought last week.

50 rolls today produced 1 silver (1943S), and 2 buffalos: a 1917 and 1927 both with full dates! The catch? They've also both got a nasty case of green disease.
Also found a 1984 Canadian and that's it.

Just went through another 100.00 with 1 very worn and thin (almost reminds me of how the dimes wear) 1942S and 4 Buffalo 1930, 1935 and two 1937 one of which is the least worn buffalo I have seen in circulation. One Canadian and not that many of the older before 1960 coins although the ones in the group were in very good shape.

Went through $100 in a combination of bank-wrapped and customer rolls ($42 BWR and $58 customer rolls). In addition to 36 pre-'61 Jeffersons, I found five Canadians (including my second 12-sided one, this time from 1960) and a 1993 British 20p coin.
