Jeeze, 3 boxes of dimes and a box of quarters and I got nothing. So I picked up another box of nickels and one of cents because these two denominations never fail me.
Can't wait to open this box.

The dan man-if its based on metal value, than save any nickel and youll be good. If its based on numismatic value, well, theres a TON of these and many are in rough shape. I toss back most 50's 40's without mintmarks, and many "D" dates. Murry-it was one of those machine ones, I found one a while back too robuddo-yeah it was one of those play money things-said "COPY" on the back. I threw it back, see if I can get 5 cents for it  |

The only way nickels will have any numismatic value is when they change the metal composition to something else, and the 75/25 nickels start being pulled from circulation. I think it will be at least 10 years before a change is noticeable in circulation. That's one reason I save pre 1960 nickels. |

10 CWR's today and I found a 1938 in vf condition and a 42 S War Nickel,my 100th above and beyond my collection. I still need a 43 D for my set. |

I did a box today. I was hoping for a Buffalo. I found a 1945P and a 1998S Proof! My first nickel proof! I found a couple hole fillers and a bunch of pre-1960 that I hang onto. Not a bad box.

TheDanMan- I too keep all pre 1960 nickels. Haven't tossed a single back yet.
JonNickelCollector- I would definitely not accept it, thanks though. You know how it is, you have to find it searching yourself or it doesn't count.

Last box of nickels had no war and no buffalo, my first ever without at least one of those...but did get more 50's and 40's than usual, and yes I keep all of these.

Just did my second box, it was about 1/2 CWR and 1/2 from the bank. No War Nickel, and no buffalo, which I was really disappointed in. My best find was a really beat up '59. I get another box Monday, I hope for some better luck! |

bbradford71, anything we're unlikely to run across.(cub scouts) I was going to buy a dozen 50D's from a shop in Boise. He assured me they were dogs but not damaged.About aG3. Went clear there and he wanted AU53 prices. Unfortunately, thats what they're commanding. I've peppered till I've got XF-AUs myself. Just give a price & I've got the postage.
