Why does everyone here seem to want to keep common coins like the 57d, 58D and the 59D when the 60P, 61P and 62P are far less common and almost as old?

I am tempted to get rid of my 41P, 46P as well as thos late 50's D coins.

I know a coin dealer who actually breaks up pre 64 proof sets to get the silver. I got a 58 Proof from him because he was just going to toss in into his change bucket.

We did a box tonight. The only keeper was a 1952s upgrade, but it was in great condition.

Nice find but it isn't BU like you stated. And not worth getting slabbed either. Still a nice roll find though!

You know I said the same thing to myself, but in the end, it is easier for me to just keep 1959 and earlier, instead of remembering which mints of which date I do and do not keep. People have their preferences and I just wanted to draw the line somewhere, because I find it easier to remember what to keep.

Wow, looks all mushed up. To me it resembles the D more than the S.

The 38 is not even close to AU, let alone BU. Also, I believe the ponytail issue is from postmint damage, but I would need a closer pic for that one.

For those who keep ALL pre60s, whats your average find per box? Fyi you'll be keeping a lot more nickels than you may want to. Just my Two Cents

I see a D.
Okay, honestly, I see a D over S, but I don't think there is that variety for that year. Probably damage..

We did a box tonight. Again only one keeper, a buffalo with an unreadable date. Went straight to white vinegar.

Got another box today :) I'm really searching hard for another hole filler. It's been so long! Hoping this is the one.

I did a box tonight, and got a few hole fillers. That isn't hard, since this is only my third box. I also found two War Nickels!

On the backs of one of them, there is some damage, and I'm wondering if it is PMD or something else? Usually it is very easy to tell if it is PMD, but since this stops at the rim on both ends, I really couldn't tell. Thoughts?
