oh yeah, Ill et you guys know if the local coin shop says anything about that nickel. I buy alot of junk silver halves but usually dont go there, the sales tax, outweighs what I get them online for, I usually only go in there to trade up 40% halves, and the occasional crisp small face 50 or 100.

Did my weekly box. Found:
2x dateless buffaloes
1943S silver!
1947S hole filler
1949D hole filler

$52 in brinks wraps and $8 in cwr yielded a 43p from brinks and a 45p from the cwr. No buffs and no hole fillers.

I feel crazy lucky so far. After just five boxes...that is right five, my wife and I have found five of the nine Jeffersons with under 10 million mintage. Those being 39S, 49S, 50, 51S, and 55. The 51S is even BU condition! In with that are 4 Buffalos and 3 proof (58, 59, 2002) which are all flawless and not impaired. I though I was lucky with my cents and silver halves, but my nickel luck in my view is off the charts. I wish the same luck and more to everyone else!

And btw, I've found a lot of 1955P although I think I've rubbed that in your face enough prolly 10-15 Well if he did make them then I'm sure many would have been found already, but who knows. I'm curious to see what his coin dealer says about that coin. 10-15 is a ton! Lucky duck. Quote:

That's an awesome find Ken! Was it a Grease Filled Die possibly? I got a box today. Can't wait to open it. It's like getting to open presents at christmas time :) Except I do it year round. |

I stopped at various banks today and had a pretty good day: Dateless buffalo 1928 Canadian nickel 1938P 1940P 1941P 1942P (75/25) 1943P x2  That is officially 80 War Nickels in my collection. I am guessing I have found about 15 from coin hunting in the last several months. 1946P 1946D 1947P x2 1949P 1949S x2 1953P 1953D 1954D x3 1956P 1956D 1957P 1957D 1958D 1959D x2 1960P x2 |

Old Canadian nickels sell for about double face value on ebay. Not really amazing stuff but I like to find them. |

Picked up 5 rolls this morning from the bank. A 1949D and a 1959D was all there was. I'm tempted to get a box because 5 rolls at a time has been pretty disappointing lstely.

Nice find on the Canadian nickel! I opened my box today: another box of 2011 nickels  . At least this had a few rolls with different coins, so I managed to find an 82 Canadian. |

I picked up some more nickels before the banks closed for the night. 1940P 1941P 1946P 1952P 1956P x2 1956D 1957D 1958P 1958D x2 1959P 1959D x2 1961P And my best find was a 1945S War Nickel, but it wasn't the find itself that was the best. It was the fact that the coin was on the end of the machine roll! It was tails up and I could barely make out the S mintmark. I've never found a silver coin on the end of a nickel roll and since it's a 1/40 chance of that happening, it sure makes hunting more fun! |
