Looks like a henning nickel to me! Nice find! these are rare! Ti make sure, check the "R" in Pluribis for a loop in the left leg.
a henning nickel is a counterfiet made by some guy named Henning who made tons of them without the mintmark and theyve become quite collectible. Seems like a lot of people are finding them.

Went through $20 of nickels today,most Brinks rolls,and only got 1 keeper,a 1929 Buffalo in fine condition.

My first thought was that it was a henning as well. But I don't think he made any with the date 1943 that I know of. He made 1944 nickels without a mint mark. So I don't know about this one. |

Wow thats very neat! Even if it is counterfeit, its still a cool piece of history. Congrads on the nice finds. I did 2* boxes of nickels tonight. One yielded some nice results. 1 hole filler: 49s. About 40 other keepers. I got a lot of 1939p nickels surprising. No silver or buffalo. This was all from one box. The other box was all 2011 ...  Two more boxes tomorrow! |

I bought about $40 in nickels today and found a few from the 40's and 50's. Nothing of note really except for another 1955 P! Murrellington is going to hate me for this.  Edited by TheDanMan

Sorry murrellington, but I've found about 3 1955Ps in my search (including one last week), but I'm also from Maryland. I still can't find a 1943D or 44s  . |

yeah I'm gonna hang on to that 1943 no mint mark, Ill take it to the local coin shop next time I get a nice crisp 50 or 100 small face in my coin dump money back. I just traded them a 1981 50$ for 5 circulated Franklin halves....lol, hey works for me. did boxes 12 and 13 tonight. 12....3 buffalo, 1 war 13...SKUNK 13 box total.........16 War Nickels, 15 buffalos |

Good point murry. I didnt think of that. but are we sure he didn't make ANY in 1943? He coulda made a few. And btw, I've found a lot of 1955P although I think I've rubbed that in your face enough  prolly 10-15 |
