I was referring more to nickels being struck in silver like when you buy a silver mint set, the nickels were never silver. But yeah, besides the War Nickels, not other nickels were struck on silver planchets. |

TheDanMan, Great Score on the War Nickel! It took me about 125 rolls before I finally got one, and it only took you 10! I want to see a picture of that V nickel also. You guys have some amazing luck on this forum. |

I've searched through a few thousand dollars worth of nickels over the past several months, and have found maybe close to 15 War Nickels. And I've found a few 1955 P nickels, much to Murrellington's dismay. But if it makes him feel better, I've never found a 1950D nickel (which shouldn't be a surprise given the low mintage), and I actually have more 1955P nickels than 1950P nickels, and the 55P has at least 2+ million fewer minted than the 50P nickels. I have 11 of the 1951 s, and it only has a mintage of 7.8 million. lol.

did my first ever box of nickels and I was amazed to find a 1911 liberty! and 2 War Nickels WOW has to be beginners luck for sure  |

Broke the bad streak with an ugly 1944S last night, my first War Nickel in a while, hope to strike another one tonight from the remains of that same box! |

10 rolls of Brinks wrapped yielded 1-dateless buffalo(now taking a vinegar bath),a 43 P war,a 54 S and a 46 S. Not bad for 10 rolls.
