I got a 1943P and 1945P out of this week's box. Also a nice 1969S Proof, except it has some kind of PMD around the edge where the writing is on the front.

I got a 42P and 43P from a box this week. I ended up buying a 50D, but I cant bring myself to put it in my album. I want to complete the whole set from circulation and I feel like this would be cheating

A 38d is a killer find, I wouldnt be the least bit upset if I found one.

Halfhunter, it seems like you're doing pretty well with your boxes. I'm averaging exactly 1 buffalo, or silver per box. Nice job!

THANKS nybrian, I cant catch a break on halves though...lol, also 3 quarter boxes of nothing. All those buffs, but only 3 are readable dates, still fun. Nickels is defenitely the funnest for trying to fill an album(i dont collect pennies, so dont know about that) My wife needs 7 nickels we havnt found in the 20 boxes. looking for 1938 d 1938 s 1939 d 1943 d 1944 d 1950 d 1951 s the 1939 is killing me, finding a decent amount, but keep flipping them over hoping for that d mark.....lol, there always no mint marks. Still fun looking for more coins then silvers

Yeah brian, you have an excellent silver and buffalo find ratio. For comparison, after 65 boxes I have 52 War Nickels and 22 buffalos.

1st box of nickels and it yielded 2 1943D. I usually do penny boxes so this was a whole new experience. It is much faster to sort. I did notice that my white gloves no longer are white. They became very dirty very quickly. Is that normal?

Quote: They became very dirty very quickly. Is that normal? Oh yes it is, I started wearing latex gloves (a box can be had for under $5 from CVS) because they are so dirty. Truth be told, just the thought of how many people don't wash their hands after going to the restroom is enough for me to not touch something that so many different people have touched with my bare hands.

It's amazing how fast the coins can dirty your hands up. I dont go as far as wearing gloves while roll hunting, but a good hand wash is in order once I am done.
