This was box number 7...i will post pics as soon as I can get time. The V nickel isn't too bad of condition either. I was just really excited to get ANY V nickel. Nevermind the fact that the box had a War Nickel and a dateless Buffalo as well....had some super primo 1956-1969 coins as well. While I have time to post this....quick question....are 1959s notorious for having the steps being non existent? I found about ten that look about as new as new can be...but no step detail at all. It almost looks like the steps were polished off the die. The coins are gorgeous otherwise. |

First box gone through! Nothing too exciting but I was happy to find over 35 pre-1960s 38 39 40 41 x2 41s 41d 42 46 47 47d 47s 48 49 51s 53 53dx2 54s 54d 55d 56 56d 57 58d x7 59 59dx3 +two Canadian nickels I quite enjoyed going through it. I'm sad to admit that I didn't realize the mint mark pre-64 was on the back... I knew it was on the back for the War Nickels but I didn't realize it was for the others too... I still have a lot to learn. I just got a new Dansco to put these guys in and still have 46 holes left to fill. I'm going to get out great grandma's old nickels now and see what else I can fill of my book. There's only about 6 dollars or so in there but a first glance I saw a couple buffalo's and War Nickels :-) I can't wait to get my next box. Hopefully I can get one this week if I have time :-) Edited by tiggeray2000

I would have to say that searching nickels is becoming very addictive. It's really nice to be able to assemble a whole set of jeffersons from circulation. I did two more boxes this weekend. I got some hole fillers for my Whitman, and I missing the nickels with mintages less than 10 million... The only exception are the War Nickels - which I need 8 more. did 2 boxes of nickels and scored 5 War Nickels and 1 1936 buffalo! was pretty happy about the results way more than I'm getting in halves |

Six finds like that in two boxes is really good in my eyes. I average one buffalo or War Nickel per box. |

Box 61 was a huge bust - just 2 keepers. Found a 51S that had a gouge in it, and considered throwing it back in. The second keeper was a '99 that had a die crack in a position I haven't seen before. (top picture).  Almost all the die cracks I find have the die crack going through the 'E' like this one (This one is also a '99).  |

$20 in machine rolled nickels yielded me very little except a 1955 P. I am glad Murrellington does not have my address.  x10 |

 You better keep that address a real secret! Picked up two boxes today, will go through them later. I've got a good feeling about this one. EDIT: Not done with the first box yet but my good feeling was true. So far I have 1 War Nickel, a 1838 s upgrade, and the 1955 hole filler! No more making fun of me for not having this one :) Edited by murrellington

It was $40 clear wrapped and $60 CWR. The hole filler, 38 s, and two War Nickels were all from the CWR. 3 holes left to fill! Of course it is the obvious 3: 1938 d 1939 d 1950 d Couldn't be more stereotypical. |

Yep :) And thanks! Last time I said I had a good feeling I got a hole filler. This time I said I had a good feeling and I got that elusive 1955 hole filler. I can't wait to have another good feeling.
I have another box sitting right next to me, but I don't think I have a real good feeling about it. lol.

Box 23 was a skunk
Box 24 got a hole filler 1943 D, also got a really nice 38 D Buffalo, that I needed
