Yeah. It was exciting seeing the 38 with the mint mark, almost thought it was a d but that was my eyes tricking me.

Haha, I do that sometimes. I give it to my wife and say "If this has a D on the back, I'm going to be real excited". It's kind of fun and suspenseful.

Hey guys, I've searched dimes, quarters and halves before for silver but never nickels. Picked up my first box today and wanted to check if there is a quick way to determine whether or not it is a War Nickel like rim searching.

The best way would be by looking at the reverse, and looking for the big mint mark.

I've found one or two looking at the rim before. But if you do that, lots look like them from the rim, and I'm sure you will miss a lot of them. I think nickels you can't edge search.

Just for fun lol, when I was at my local Food Lion I asked the young cashier if I could buy a few rolls of coins from her drawer. I got nervous when she called her assistant store manager over to see if it was ok. So I just smiled brightly, explained what I wanted which was to search coins for my coin albums and he led me over to where they keep the safe on the wall, opened it and sold me 4 penny rolls and also 2 rolls of nickels and 5 rolls of dimes.

From the two rolls of nickels my oldest ones are two 1962D nickels. They are probably in G condition at best but was happy nonetheless. Found a very good variety of dates too from the 1962D's forward. My dimes yielded a few 2010P's that are pristine and also some 2011 P & D mintmarks. Came up with a very good mix of dates from those too.

Still no halves in yet at my bank but I have continued in other avenues of searching while I wait.
