Got 2--2005-D Detached Leg Bison's...from what I read, the D Mint is much scarcer than the P Mint...to qualify, you HAVE to see the polishing lines in the leg area, and, under belly, and, later die state...I can take close-ups if you want to see this interesting coin...a lot of sellers online sell these, but, only buy from good ones, as these are mis-attributed many times by just a Very late Die state, and lack of detail in leg area, but, no polish lines, and, TPG's will not slab as Detached Leg. |

My finds this week. the V is about half as thick at it was when it was new.. But 100 years in pocket change will do that I guess. Imagine if it were circulated for another 100 years.. It would disappear!   |

Great finds, Baysinger. I have yet to find a Liberty nickel in coin roll hunting, but I did find a 1944P today. Silver is silver! |

I've always been into Penny roll hunting, but I've finished that collection so I've been looking into nickels now. Out of curiosity, how many rolls would I have to go through before finding a Buffalo? I know it's random and there's no "right" amount but a range would be nice.

Vince220: you need about $300 of nickels before finding a buffalo. But even then, 40% of them will be dateless. The first boxes at a bank are always the best, so new nickel searchers usually average better than this before it regresses to the norm.

Yeah robbudo, my first box had 2 buffalos and a War Nickel. And that is obviously not the norm. It was enough to get me addicted though :) |

I went through more than $500 before I found that Buffalo. Next box was the Liberty. murrellington.. Yep! 1912 D. I thought for a second about that 1913 Liberty nickel and had a mini "what will I do with my millions" fantasy. |

I've only done two boxes. My first box had 3 Buffalos, (1 dateless) and then second box had a War Nickel  |
