CrazyCat and trapper, where do you get your information about foreign coins? I have about 300 coins that I would like to identify.
Just finished $160 in CWR. $60 from my CU and $100 from my half dollar dump bank. 17 pre 1960's, and 1 silver from each. Also the CU gave up 2 Canadian and 3 2009's.
I was able to upgrade my album with a great looking 1939-S that still had some of the steps showing. I'm not very good at grading yet so I won't venture a guess at its grade.
As for the box of 2012-D's, I'm going to keep a few rolls and take the rest to my LCS. I told him he could have them for face value. The remaining I will dump back at the bank.

I have a 20 pence coin I got from nickel searching. For the Austrian one, I had to do a bit of research on google.
P.S. Got $30.
Keepers: 1939 x1 1940-S x1 1942 (CuNi) x1 1948-D x1
And 1 1986 Canadian.

Did a box on the weekend. Looks like I got someone's coin collection? Was about 16 rolls with one year in each roll. Sadly 1961 was the oldest year so not sure if other boxes had even older or what made them decide to start/stop there. I haven't examined those rolls yet as 64 and 65 have each their own variety/error for CDN Nickels...will keep you posted if I find one. But I'm thinking if it came from a collector they have already checked!

I picked up a box tonight but sadly I haven't had a chance to go through it yet. It's just sitting here on my desk looking at me! I think it's saying OPEN, OPEN, OPEN! It looks like I'll have to wait and open it tomorrow at work.

Thanks trapper and CrazyCat. I found a website today at work that has a bit of helpful information. Unfortunately, I forgot to bookmark it. I'll go through the history tomorrow and bookmark it.

anybody else been having bad luck lately with nickels....went through $330 recently and only thing to show for it was a 1981 proof which was not to bad but not even a lot of pre 60's....no wars or buffalos either...they were all from boxes from bank and not CWR got 3 seperate $100 boxes at 3 different banks and the other $30 was just a throw in when I was getting some dimes and pennies to even it out....probably getting some later this week...ill have to wait to see what happens but if its a skunky box might have to go back to mostly dimes

That does seem like a little bad luck BenjaminsBaby. Have you thought about going to a different bank? When ever I have a run of skunk boxes, I try another bank. Your best bet may be merchant. They will handle large amounts of coin for local businesses. Some banks may even let you buy boxes even if you don't have an account. I make sure to tell them I will NOT be dumping the coin back at their bank. This seems to make them more willing to give me boxes.
I finished the bank box today. Pulled out 3-2009's and 15 pre-1960's.
Ironically, while sorting through some change for one of my accounts, I found a 1945-S and a 1964 dime. Go figure.

BenjaminsBaby About 1 month ago it dropped off dramatically for me. I hardly find any pre 1960 anymore and very few war nickles. I did find 1 war nickle in 2 boxes today which fill my seventh roll for this year (280) coins. I believe the number of searchers in my area has increased lately. I did manage to complete my Dansco album, so I going to stop nickles for several months.
