The Goal: 25,000 Rolls Of Nickels (All Searchers Welcome!)

Decided to do $40 in nickels. Got a 1940-S and a 1952-S upgrade.

Also got 5 rolls of uncirculated 2006-D nickels. I'll probably save them for posterity. Hopefully they'll have a (slight) premium in a few decades.

anybody on here keep the pre 1960s and just roll them up when you have 40...that is what iam doing...i just keep them as I know the nickel is worth more than the 5 cents depending on metal prices...i figure I might as well have some just incase...i do penny hoard but it is a lot cheaper and you cant keep every penny like you could with the nickel...and the ones pre 1960 sometimes bring a premium especially some of the harder dates/mm...i plan on selling some duplicates as well...anybody else have this way of thinking

Opened one box tonight and found 1x44p and a 38D.

I went through a $100 box of nickels yesterday and found these 4 beauties! also a 1943P, 1939, and the usual handfull of pre 1960s.

The three 1941Ds must have come from someone's stash. I'm not a nickel expert but under magnification you can see all of the steps on Monticello!
Too bad they have that crud on the back.

Both the '40&'41 Ds have both DDs & RPMs. Something you might want to look at.

Found this interesting error nickel a few days ago out of a machine roll and posted it in the error section. Mikediamond identified it as a struck through late stage die cap affixed to a split die. 1st I've ever found. Only keeper in the box. Reverse is normal.

mountainman 2 - that is an awesome error. I just sold an error I found nickel searching for $25 on ebay. I bet yours would go for $50 to $100.
