Wow mountainman that is an awesome find! Last year I found a split die, but yours is even better with the capped die as well. Bet you could get $75+ on ebay for that |

I took the plunge and bought my first box of nickels,. The very first roll yielded a dateless Buffalo nickel! I was giddy! After running through the first box I yielded 2 dateless buffalos 1 1944-P War Nickel1 1945-P War Nickel 22 Pre-1959 While unwrapping the rolls, I felt like Charlie Bucket opening a Wonka Bar looking for that golden certificate! Maccoins-  to the Nickel Searcher club! Those are some great finds for your first box! Put the datelesss buffs in some vinegar and the dates should appear! |

I had a bottle of glacial acetic acid in the basement. I believe vinegar is 6% and glacial acetic is 40%. I dropped in my Two Cents, actually two nickels and we will see what happens! Mack |

Last night's box yielded a 1938p in very good shape, a 1964p proof, and a 1927p buffalo.

Results from last night's box: Always good to see before you start searching. Turns out it was a 1936.  Also found a dateless Buffalo. I gave both to my Brother. He has started an album. I was able to pull 42 pre-1960 along with 6 2009-D and a 2009-P. There were 4 1939's. Still looking for the 39-D for my album. |

Been awhile since I've done a box...I was getting skunked and finding nothing really worth keeping in the last 500$ but couldnt resist that urge haha...pretty pleased it was a good box...pretty diverse in what I found as far as older nickels..surprisingly I usually find a lot more commons such as 59d...still got some of those but managed to find some decent other d and s minted ones No Buf No V No Proof 2 War 43P 44D 2 Canadian 1 Euro 5 cent 40s 41p 47s 49p 52d 53s 55p  only my second one ever found...only thing left is 50d of course 56d x2 57d 58d x4 59d x3 |

I just finished $360 today. There was $200 in BWR and $160 in CWR. Here are the results: 1 1927 Buffalo  1 1942-P Silver 1 1945-P Silver 78 Pre-1960 16 2009-D I think this is a Grease Filled Die? There is nothing but a weak outline of Jefferson on the obverse.  I found a beautiful 1938-D. It replaced the really worn one in the album. I have a possible 1960-P DDO / DDR. My camera phone does not take a good enough picture to post it here. I am unsure if it is MD or true DD? For now, I'll just keep it until I can take better photos. I can give a detailed breakdown of the pre-1960's if anyone is interested. |

1 War - 1943-S
1 Buffalo - 1917 although near dateless
2 Canadians
1 Cayman Islands
Also, I got a very nice AU 1939. I have seen the occasional 1939 with 1940 reverse on some forums. How would you go about identifying this? I unfortunately do not have a means to post a very nice photo right now otherwise I would let you all be the judge of it.
