Wow today was great I got a box from a bank I have never stop at, and WHOA!!! not only did I find hand full of wartimes, and a few buffalos, but I scored 5 1979s proofs, and ten flawless 78 d&p plus a large amount of all fourties and fifties also!! It was a good day finally!!
Good luck out there hunters!!

Box #20... no wars or buffs (still at 28 silver and 8 buffs, which is nothing to complain about).

I did find my first two clips. Both are small (one is really small), but there is no questioning what they are. Happy to find them.

Also found a 1960 with ''bars'' (chips) over a few letters and the 0. A handful or minor clashes and cracks, most tossed back.

One fish nickel and 0 Canadians (strange).

My last two boxes yielded another 1944P and a 1951s.

Hi Rachums,

Thanks for the welcome! I remember reading that you and I think Gothic were both in NH. I am in SNH as well, near Manchester. I used to live in Nashua for a year before I bought a house.

Just found my first awesome coin ever!
1939 Double Montecello!
I tried to take a picture with phone, but can't get close enough. What is the name of the magnifier stand that everyone uses to take pictures?

1 box yielded a 55 (only 8.3 million minted), typical amount of pre-60 and 2 War Nickels - 45S and 43P. decent box.

Did two boxes yesterday. Here are the Results.

Box #5
33 pre '60
1943-D War (hole filler, I'm only on box 5 so quite a few holes)
1944-S War (hole filler)
17 S mint
2009-D x2
1984 Canadian nickel

Box #5
26 pre '60
1944-P War (hole filler)
18 S mint
2009-D x1
1979-S Proof
1984 Canadian nickel

Nickels have been my favorite denomination to search because:
- I can search them twice as fast as pennies
- Not usually covered in crud like pennies
- A box is cheap (compared to quarters and halves)
- I average at least 25 pre '60 keepers per box VS about 10 per box with pennies (wheats)
- There are sometimes silver

I love searching them and I'm gonna keep doing it 'till my books are full.

Are there any error varieties that I should look for?
