Mendelman - Sounds like my dump. I just took a bunch of loose 60's nickels to the bank. Had been saving them minus the 1964's for whatever reason and decided they were taking up too much space and not worth the return if I ever needed to get rid of them.

I have been nickel searching for at least 5 years and I too made my best finds in early boxes. My 50 D from circulation came within the first 6 months of searching. I found everything but my 38 S and 43 D within 16 months of starting. The last at least 3.5 years has been in search of those 2 from circulation. I still need the 43 D and with all the silver searchers out there I have just about given up hope.

I found a nice '51-S today. A hole filler for my Whitman. I need 5 more coins to complete the set.

nice find JustinNH.

1 box so far has yielded a nice full date 1936 buffalo. I think I need to get a buffalo whitman for a few bucks now.

no silver, no hole fillers, but a few upgrades to the existing whitman.

I have a question guys. I was going through rolls and came across a 2005 Bison with a large Cud in the forehead. Does anyone know anything about these?
Please help.

Happyjack, most errors are a one time occurrence, meaning that no two errors are exactly alike. Please post pictures so your coin can be better evaluated.

So I finished the box with my first D mint War Nickel and I actually found a 2nd one! Also a Buffalo, full dated (1936 or 26... I don't remember).

Over 20 boxes done with no D's and then two together-- I assume they were dumped together, or just pure luck.

2 'D' Silvers and a Buffalo = I am very happy with the box!

Finals week the bane of every college student's existence. Well, for a study break I got $20 of MWR ( to feed the addiction). The first roll gave me this guy.

First silver in a few months... Now hopefully I do this well on the Stats test tomorrow.
