You would have to think those "V" nickels re-entered circulation together based on the odds of finding one in a box. The dateless buffalo appears to have a faint D-mint mark on the lower reverse.

did a box, and it was fun as usual :-) Thats why I do it I suppose. 2 x 43p no buffs around 4 x 1939 couple upgrade coins, no hole fillers. I edge searched and found one of the wars. I found myself edge searching the nickels today before dumping the roll out. edit - I edge found a War Nickel, not a buff. Edited by skibdib

200$ bag yielded 32 pre-60 keepers, a 1960 upgrade for one of my two books, and a 40S upgrade. rarely do I get an upgrade/month - let alone two in a bag
found 2 silvers and an 80S proof. Also a 72 canadian nickel nickel.

With the snow making me a shut in for the evening I grabbed 10 rolls from my bank yesterday. All were customer rolled and I was pleasantly surprised..
1- 37 full date buffalo
2- 40
1- 41
1- 42
2- 46
1- 47
1- 49 S
1- 56
2-57
2-58
Also added 4 2013's to my AU/UNC roll..
For me a lot of keepers out of 10 rolls..

I need some help determining whether I stumbled upon a 1936-D 3 1/2 leg Buffalo nickel or just a dirty, worn nickel. I found the 36-D and a 36-S in the same box, along with my first 1950-D and a 1944-S. With the naked eye, the leg on the 36-D looks a lot less pronounced than the 36-S. Unfortunately it's also covered in some kind of black gunk, as you can see from the photo. Any opinion is welcome. Thanks   |

About 10 boxes of nickels, got a buff or two, some 20 rappen coin, and a canadian; but some CWR rolls, and change from buying a newspaper yielded 7 War Nickels. total of 4 2009 nickels in all the boxes. just having no luck at all with boxes. well one of the War Nickels might have come from the boxes, but only see to be keeping lots of 40s and 50s, but no 1950 or 1951. Might be time for me to take a break from CRH or find another bank that uses a different boxing company. One bank uses Brinks, and the other I have no idea as the box doesn't say, it jsut has the coin type printed all over the box millions of times and holes to look through and check that all the rolls are there. |
