I am half-way through my 55th box of nickels, and just found a hole-filler: 55 boxes, with just four more holes to fill! (1938-S, 1944-S, 1950, and 1950-D).

I'm into a good box! Halfway in and 5 Buffalo (2 dateless), a steel penny, a number of pre-1960, and several BU specimens.

I got two boxes from the bank - both re-filled with customer-wrapped rolls, and there was nothing at all in them except one 2009-P nickel. Wow. Hopefully today will be luckier!

Sorted through a box of nickels while sitting by the bonfire with my family and found 2 war nics a 1944S and a 1942P, which were both hole fillers only need one more war to complete a full collection of them. Also along with this found this old super nice looking 1947 Canadian. The oldest Canadian nickel found for me. Also with this 15 other pre 1960. Was a great box to celebrate the 4th. Good luck to everybody searching and have a happy and safe weekend.

20 rolls of nickels over the weekend. First time getting String & Son rolls from my bank (usually Loomis).
Found 4 pre-60's in one roll (39, 49D, 52D and 59D). Also found a 2009D, 2x 1940, 1941 and 3x 1946, and some scattered 50's. Quite a lot of old ones in the bunch!

Quote: old super nice looking 1947 Canadian That is a fun find! I haven't found one that old. The 12-sided inscribed figure is neat.

Thanks A123. The Buffalos thinned out after I spoke, but I did find a couple more. OK, I haven't posted fun finds for a while now, but I finally stumbled onto a good box (with another on-deck). I tallied all the finds by date/mm, but it's a long list. So just the highlights - Buffalo: 1916, 1917, 1920, 1929, 1930,1936, 1937 1938 (11): 9P, 1D, 1S 1939 (44): 42P, 0D, 1S WAR (3): 42P, 43P, 45P and a Steel Cent 1950 (3): 3P, 0D 1951 (10): 6P, 4D 1955 (25): 1P, 24D 1958 (17): 6P, 11D Foreign: 1923 Canadian Several 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s in BU. I upgraded a bunch of dates/mms in the album. I also have a number to do variety hunting, but I'm anxious to get into the next box, so that'll have to wait. Here are the fun finds -

Nice finds, aristarchus123 and Rackster! I've had an eventful past several days with the nickels... found a 42-P and two 50's to fill a couple of holes, along with another 38-D (I'm now only missing the 38-S,39-D,43-D,44-D,45-P,45-S,50-D,and 55), and nabbed 3 Buffalos including a 1918-D!! And two proofs- 73-S, 05-S!

My 1918-D by itself... needless to say, I was pretty shocked and stoked to find this - called my Mom actually LOL as July 7th's my birthday, so I said it was an early birthday present... Definitely the most valuable coin I have found to date.
