Thank you, dadsoncoinhobby! It's been quality over quantity for me so far this month... exciting! :)

A123 and dads - thank you!

John - Terrific finds! I have to admit I thought that the bonus boxes would have come a couple months back with the post-Christmas payoffs. But better late than never. I have two boxes left: one is a solid box of 2014's (I thought that was odd to pick up this late in 2016) and a mixed box. Hope to have a follow-up box, but I have to clear the desk first!!

Good luck folks! Seems the good coins are flowing!!

This week's box was pretty nice: 1934 buffalo, 17 pre-1960 and 4 2009-D's.

Now that I have some better cash flow, I'm going to be aggressively hitting the full boxes, rather than picking up 1/2 boxes... believe it or not, today's the first day (out of 5) this month that I have not found any silver.

Thanks, Rackster... That 18-D Buffalo was a game changer for me... now I'm starting to think I can find just about anything!

The coins are out there. At present I'm only missing both '13S, '16S, '18S, '20S and '21S to be complete up to 1924 for my pickled nickel set. The dates and mms are out there in worn, circulated condition. I figure if the dateless specimens are floating about us then so are the dated specimens. Albeit they are more obvious to snag with a date showing so more of the dateless variety are floating about.

Skibs - all in the same box. I caught a partial collection dump given date/mm coins present along with type and condition. Those 1938Ps are in great shape and a proof in the mix. Sheer volume of pre-60s items bumped my chances of finding good stuff. I didn't do a total tally but easily 200 coins. This next box has me down to earth again though. Only a nice grade 1938 and 1951 so far about 25-33% in. No buffalo either. And still no V nickels since finding that worn 1887 about a year ago. But most of the box to go yet so who knows. That's what makes this interesting.

Yup, Rackster... You just never know what you're going to find... and that's what keeps us coming back for more. My nickels have been interesting lately... I either have been finding a lot of pre-60s with no key dates/silvers/buffalos, or I find small batch of pre-60s with the few I find containing an inordinate number of good ones...

Well, I bought 21 rolls today... I guess I should get to it!

And my run of quality continues... only 7 pre-60s out of 21 rolls, but 1 was a 44-S, and one was the 6th rarest coin in the series, the 51-S... and I got an 83-S proof!

The 44-S also knocks one off of my list of nickels to complete my 38-61 set. Only 7 to go now! Still MIA:
38-S, 39-D, 43-D, 45-P, 45-S, 50-D, 55.

Finished a box of nickels and found 1 War Nickel and these 2 interesting foreign coins. The best as I can tell from a Google search one is from Greece and the other from russia. They stuck out as I poured the roll into my hand because of the reeded edges.

I still do 2-3 boxes of nickels a week but don't post in this thread much anymore as all I find is the usual 1 silver per box, a Buffalo or V nickel every 15 boxes or so, and the rest are just the usual worn out pre 1955 stuff.

I was going through a box today and it started off really bad. Nothing pre 1960 in the first 15 rolls. I started to ask myself if there was such a thing as a skunk box of nickels other then getting a solid box of new ones. Well I found a Buffalo and then a silver and then another 1938S.

I'm goign to have to start throwing all of these 1938S I keep getting back into circulation. This makes 7 since January 1, 2015 when I found my first one after going 3 plus years without find even one.
