Yes, they are indeed jbuck!
Going in later today for coins. Will mostly be Halves as I've had some waiting for me in that vault for several days! My crazy Nickels have interrupted my Half Dollar hunting!

The nickels can wait a day or two, but not more! Good luck with the half dollars.

As I posted in the JFK thread I picked up an assortment of rolls of coins from a branch I bank with out of town in cow country hoping for some good old finds since not many businesses around to gobble up all the coin, in $40 in nickels I ended up with several pre 60s and best of all 1936 full date buffalo. It wasn't a hole filler but I will take any buffalo any day!

Quote: Looks like a 1918 D on that Buffalo, CrazyCat! To be honest Drew, I don't really see the 1918 Not doubting your numismatic abilities, but I just can't seem to see a 1918 on my buffalo. Also great job on the 1939-S aristarchus! I've only found one of those in over $3000 searched.

Got 25 String&Sons rolls today... for whatever reason (maybe my awesome luck of late), I didn't even bother to check them until I got home. Discovered they're all brand new 2016-Ds. I will be up early to send them back!

Good finds, Nickelitus! 2 Silvers and the scarce 51-S and tough 38-P is not bad at all!
And jbuck, you're correct... snags are fine, it's when a bank gets nothing but new rolls that we have to change our course of action. I'm just going to double down on the nickels today... the 200 Halves were a TOTAL skunk. No silver, proofs, NIFCs or varieties so I am going to assume the rest of that box is likely crap. May pick up some more later in the week. The brand new teller (who is a coin collector) at my bank had lots of generic nickel rolls, so I grabbed 30 of them this morning. We spent like FIVE minutes talking coins! Will grab more rolls at my other branch this afternoon.

The box of nickels is now done!
The noteworthy finds are as follows:
1939: 1 1940: 1 1940D: 1 1941: 4 1946D: 1 1947: 1 1947S: 1 1953: 1 1954S: 1 1955D: 1 1956: 1 1956D: 1 1957: 1 1957D: 2 1958D: 2 1959D: 1 1960: 2 1960D: 1 1961: 1 1961D: 1 1962D: 7 1963D: 2
2003S: 1 (impaired proof mentioned in previous post)
2009D: 3
Highest: 2015D with 157 of them in the box.
Only 6 though were 2016D
Unidentified: 8. This is only my second box of nickels, but the first didn't have any UNIDs.
Canadian nickels: only one, 1986
Next up is a box of cents.

Impaired proofs are always cool... do you have a pic? I see you also pull the 60-63 coins. I put them in a coffee bottle, but haven't tracked them on a daily basis. I had one lone roll from my 2nd bank this evening, and it actually produced better coins than the 30 rolls earlier (best was a worn 40-D) in the day. 3 pre-60s including a 48-S and a very nice 58 Philly.

Picked up 2 boxes of nickels from my favorite teller today! Sealed boxes this time from loomis, got home and opened up the box and found this.... It's a good day when opening a fresh box and seeing a buffalo ender! Unfortunately I won't have time today to go through them, but will post results after getting through them!

@john, I don't have infrastructure for pics.
I will save the pre-1964s (actually, any pre-1970) that is in excellent shape. All pre-1959 nickels are saved.

Got it. I've been thinking about saving the 1965-70 coins. I already save the 1971 Phillys, along with the 1982 & 1983 dated coins that are in nice shape.
