Nice finds, aristarchus123! Cuds are cool... I only have found one in my nickel hunting.

Bought about 3 boxes worth of nickels on Tuesday. No silver, but found a Buffalo, a couple of better date Jeffersons, and a record 16 2009-Ds!

Got another box from that bank where I got the AU 1939-S... almost halfway through found a really nice looking 1950.... paused for about a minute, took a couple of pictures anticipating, but when I flipped it over there was no D to be found.

You'll find one this year I'm sure! I'll be interested to see if you find it before I find the 38-S. One of us will complete the set soon. (This is your second set, no? If I recall correctly you found a 50-D some years ago).

I hope so... that law of averages needs to catch up with both of us for our respective missing nickels... And yes, I found a 50-D over 30 years ago when I was a cashier to finish my first set (took me 2 1/2 years).

In my searching, found a couple of other notables in addition to that 50 Philly in Saturday's coins... a 1919 Buffalo, and FINALLY a 2009-P - first one in a few weeks. (Edit: actually make that TWO 2009-Ps!)

Picked up a few rolls at the bank last week - one of them had 14 from the 40's and the rest 50's and 60's. Unfortunately, any War Nickels or 50D's had been removed. I kept the 40's anyway.

nice Cud aristarchus! if I am not mistaken, example #2 at this link is the one you found

http://cuds-on-coins.com/jefferson-...l-cuds-1983/

You could sell that for over 20 bucks on ebay, especially with a link to the known example.

i had the #3 if I remember correctly. I'm sure its buried in this thread somewhere.

I'd go back there and see if they have any more rolls... 14 from the 40's is unusual for a box, let alone a roll!

Hi everyone,
Update on the last $50 we searched. I took a peek back through and we missed a 1978S proof. This would be our first proof find CRH (that we know of). Since it was a 2nd pass, we may have missed others in the past. Also found a 40, 54, and 59D that we didn't catch the first time.
