Thanks, jbuck and afcop13. I enjoy making the spreadsheets. I'm a math geek, so the intersection of my main hobby with math is enjoyable for me!

Nice finds, JonNickelCollector, and thanks for the totals! Any idea how many you've searched now? It is very interesting to compare our totals. You find a ton more P mints than me, and I find a ton more S mints than you... I added in my finds through 900,000 searched to compare:

The strange anomaly is you finding more 1951-S coins than me... That's the only S-mint amongst the keys,semi-keys, and War Nickels you've found more of than me.
It is also striking that you've found more than 10x as many 1955 Philly coins as me! Shows how they just never made it out to my side of the country.

John77,

I'm in Ohio. What part o the country are you in?

Yes, we have found an unusually large number of 1951s nickels.

I have no idea how many boxes we have done. I wish we had kept track from the start.

JonNickelCollector, I'm in the Los Angeles area.

Well, I had an interesting day yesterday. Bought exactly $200 worth of nickels from 6 different banks... one of the S&S MWRs had a nice little surprise waiting for me... do you see what I see?
The-Goal:-25,000-Rolls-Of-Nickels-All-Searchers-Welcome!

My first V nickel of the year, and 11th overall! A 1902.

I also found a dateless Buffalo (now pickling) - I accidentally re-scanned my 1916 from the other day instead (oops!), 1942-S and 1944-P War Nickels, and, most strangely, a 1943-S steel cent in one of the rolls. There were also 13 dimes amongst the CWR.

Wow, John77! Not only are V-nickels the gold standard for nickel CRHing, you have a 1943-S steel cent! I'm still looking for one of those; it is the only one I need for the 1941-1974 Whitman folder. The year is off to a great start!

Indeed it is off to a good start. I remember finding a couple of steel cents in Dime rolls one time. They turn up in the oddest places! My ultimate goal is to find a Shield nickel.

Went through 3520 coins yesterday, found 30 pre-60s including a 1943-D and a 1927 Buffalo. Only 2 2009-Ds managed to show up. I've had much better luck than most with the 1943-D nickel - it's my 9th found via CRH.

I say go for it, shotgung!

Well, my January totals are in... I went through 62,720 nickels, finding 564 pre-60s including 25 War Nickels, 10 Buffalo nickels, a V nickel, single 1938-D, 1939-S, 1943-D, 1950, and 1955 Jeffersons, two 1951-Ss, three 1949-Ss, along with 3 2009-Ps, and 96 2009-Ds.
The-Goal:-25,000-Rolls-Of-Nickels-All-Searchers-Welcome!

For you gamblers here, 6 coins have not shown up yet... based on my previous finds, here are the approximate odds they show up next:

1942-D: 3:2
1944-S: 2:1
1944-D: 5:1
1938-S: 10:1
1939-D: 40:1
1950-D: 80:1
