Going through my last $10.00 worth of rolls........ found a 1921 Buffalo Nickel ......  ... That made the whole box worthwhile right there.......would've liked some silver, but that's fine ! ..  |

I've been searching cents for a while with a few rolls of nickels thrown in. This week I decided to do my first nickel box. I filled the rest of my holes from 1958 to 2008. I also pulled the following pre 60s: 40P - 4 41P - 1 48P - 1 48D - 2 51P - 1 52S&P - 1 each 53D - 1 54D - 1 55D - 1 58D - 3 59D - 5 I also found a 1986P that I thought was a proof until I saw the mm. Just a beautiful coin. I've got 25 holes left to complete a set. This is fun. Is there a list of Jefferson doubled dies anywhere? I pulled a couple that have doubling. There's a 75P with doubling on the date that I'm pretty sure is Machine Doubling. I also found a 74D with doubling through most of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. That one I'm not so sure about. We picked up 10 fed rolls this morning as I was doing some banking and we scored a 1908. It's really banged up and has Rolling Machine Damage all over the date, but...and, this is the amazing thing, I think...it was all rolled up and headed for somebody's cash register, had we not intercepted it! |

Yesterday I went through customer rolls and found the following Canadian Nickels
1952 Georgivs VI
1964 Elizabeth II
1960 Elizabeth II
Remarkably the 1964 looks to be in Au
Any idea of their value? TIA
CNL - Nice stats you post. I picked around $180 in customer rolls between yesterday and today. Noteworthy were the Canadians some 1950's. However, one of the rolls had 98, 99 and 2000 and 68, 69 70 S in Au condition. There is some sort of toning on the edges. Funny thing is a few of the rolls were short and were stuffed with pennies as fillers. One of these days I am going to buy a scanner and post some pics here.

Thanks for the info. There is no die crack on mine.
FYI - Of the 2 sites calagarycoin is the best. Coinsandcanda website has been HACKED in the past. You find it when you Google and I ran a clean up routine on my PC after visiting that site.

Yeah for me ..... after 3790 rolls searched ..... just bagged my first 1944-D silver War Nickel from a roll tonight!  This find leaves me just two coins short of completing my humble Whitman 9009 from circulation rolls ..... 1938-S and 1943-D. I give my new VF 1944-D Jefferson two dancing fruit .... My first full box of nickels over the weekend. Did a few each day. 29 Pre-1960's - no real key dates 1 - 1945P War Nickel2 - canadians - 1982 and 86. 12 - S mints all from 68-70. no 2009's.......of course. Overall, I suppose that is about average for a box from what I've read here. I have another box coming in Thursday. |

I usually search boxes of halves every week, but since those have been really slow lately, I decided to pick up a box of nickels and and try my luck. I was pleasantly surprised with my finds: 1930's - 3 1939 P 1940's - 4 1940(3P,1D), 4 1941(3P,1S), 1 1942, 1 1944 P wartime, 1 1946 P, 1 1947 P, 4 1948(3P, 1D) 1950's - 1951 P, 1952 P, 2 1954 S, 1 1955 D, 1 1956 D, 4 1957(3D, 1 P), 1 1958 D, 1 1959 D 1960's and 70' - 1 68 S, 4 69 S, 3 70 S 1 1993 S proof I think I will add a box of nickels to my weekly search from now on. I forgot how fun searching nickels can be |

I ended up replacing/upgrading 8 of my nickels from that box above, and also did actually fill 4 holes that were empty as well.
Now I've gotta wait 4 days until the next box........I'll probably swing in my bank and see if they have an extra one in the vault tomorrow. lol.

Guys, keep your eyes open for the 41'S large s variety...and the inverted 41-s as well. I have noticed with the 40's and 50's nickels you can have a blast looking for the rpms in the series, of which there are many
