Jedichef: for varieties try either the Cherrypicker's Guide Vol 1 ( Half Cents to nickels) or the Jefferson nickel rpm book by James wiles......both great references for the collector.

More recent boxes are actually likely to produce better than early 08 ones, as the recession caused lots of people to dump their old coins while less people were dumping hordes in 08.

Here is a nickel roll searcher happy day ..... the end coin of a String & Son roll ...... it is saying 'open me'.

The-Goal:-25,000-Rolls-Of-Nickels-All-Searchers-Welcome!

Turns out to be another no-date Buffalo ..... but sure was fun to have that beauty peeking out of the end of the roll.

Enjoy your treasure hunts.

Wow - cool end of roll to find for sure. All I get here are Brinks plastic wrapped rolls, but I always look at the ends. I'm picking up a box of halves and a box of nicks tomorrow! Pennies on Friday.

Shoulda posted that Buffalo on the end of the roll on ebay. Title coulda been Buffalo on end of roll - 3 Legged inside?

Had one of those a couple months ago. Fun finds.

Edit - to add that should be "Buffalo on end of UNSEARCHED roll - 3 legged inside?"

Yinzi, congrats!

Nickel searching is so much fun. My wife picked up two boxes for me today. I've looked at six rolls so far, and I've found a 1947 and an 1945-P

I picked up a box at lunch today and checked the ends of a few rolls - 1940, 1942, 1954 and 1958. Sure makes for a long afternoon at work!
