Well, 'tis the Christmas season and I thought I'd wish the whole CCF family a very Happy and Merry Christmas and may this year be the happiest and healthiest ever. And just for Christmas here's one of my favorite 'pieces of paper'

Those are lovely.

Miss Ivy Mallet's address seems a bit vague though.

Buddy, remember that Postal Zone codes didn't begin until 1943 and Zip Codes in 1963. Besides, in a small township like Negaunee "everybody knew everybody" and mail with an address of "CITY" meant Negaunee. When I was a young boy I remember receiving mail with just "City" as part of the address. I'm certain on this very forum there are collectors of OLD postcards with addresses such as we see on the Ivy Mallett check.
But you are right, by today's standards it does seem a bit odd and of course with automated sorting centers "City" doesn't mean anything.
Just by the way, the Negaunee State Bank was located at 331 Iron Street and failed in 1933 during the Depression.

The Santa dollar bills are real one dollar bills with a sticker of Santa covering George Washington.

@CelticKnot Wikipedia has a page on Christmas Clubs, it's basically a type of savings program. Wiki says they started during the Great Depression, but techwriter's cheque predates that.

Yes, it's a real $1 note with a Santa portrait almost seamlessly glued on top of George.
