It is just a countermark. Post damage.

I think it is a countermark overprint (Post Print Damage) as well.
My problem is that I can't think of anyone who would have the need overprint on the inks designed to stick to the polymer substrate. It looks quite professional.

Still, it might be worthwhile writing to NPA to find out a little more, or even getting in contact with Mick Vort Ronald, through Noble Numismatics or Downies.

I have to admit my curiosity !

Unfortunately WangWang it is over the top of the A you refer to,see where it comes into contact with the A there is a colour change ? under 10 X magnification it should be quite easy to see.

to be honest I dnt know . was just guessing . but why someone do this much professional work to print it so perfectly . I am sure cops dnt have that much time just in case if its for raids or to catch someone as I read in other articles .

To my eye, the loop of the 'A' is clearly printed over the 'N'.

Thus, this note must be some sort of variety,
deliberately printed by Note Printing Australia.

Thanks Sel_691 thats what I think . bcz I am sure the black ink used to print Loop of Australia dnt come off that easy if you make countermark on it .

worth thinking

Without any further replies so far, I repeat thet it may be worthwhile speaking to someone in Noble Numismatics or Downies sometime in the New Year.
Perhaps you may be able to send some pictures to them after a discussion over the 'phone.

I am not a banknote specialist, but it should be fairly easy to end up speaking to the right specialists 'in the know'.
I have found another dealer who may be able to advise:
The Right Note. They are located in Sydney, ph. No. (02) 9251 1288

Sorry, but as far as I can tell, this is just another example of a foreign currency-exchange office privately counterstamping a note.

The N has been stamped on with ink, not paint. You can see right through it. That's why it looks like the curl of the "A" is "above" the ink when it really isn't.

I wouldn't recommend trying it (because it's technically illegal), but if you got an ink stamp from Officeworks and stamped a note with it, it would look exactly the same as this.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Hello there guys . I have sended email and scan to Downies and they also have tried there best but there is nothing we can find till now to be honest . I got the following reply . Thanks to John freestone for his help

You seem to have a somewhat intriguing note, one which we have not seen previously. Because we have no information regarding the additional letter on the note we contacted a former executive from Note printing Australia who we thought might be able to provide some information. Like us, he was unable to answer the question as well. His comments were that that it could not have been done during the printing process as the machinery involved firstly would never have been set to include such a letter, and that secondly, if it had been a foreign obstruction during printing, it would have been electronically detected and removed prior to release.Without having the note physically in our hands to determine why it is there, we can provide no information.

hopefully I try to see them someday and may be smthing new comes up
