I'm surprised that there's no existing thread on this yet, so I might as well start it! It's simple, if you find any money on the ground at any time or place, you can post what you got here! I'll probably be posting quite frequently, as the idiots at my school drop change on the ground ALL THE TIME. Strangely, I didn't find any change at school yesterday. But I DID find a 20 dollar bill in one of my classes, so that's an awesome start to this thread! Edited by Coincollector110 12/18/2015 08:02 am

I always scan the ground for coins, even a penny! Great idea.

I have also thought this would be a great thread. A friend and myself send each other pictures of our free money finds for fun and humor. Did find a dime yesterday in gas station parking lot.

I found a $20 bill at my high school once. I also found a $5 bill, a few $1 bills, and lots of change. In all, I probably found $40 by just keeping my eyes open. All of my fiends were very jealous.

On a field trip to Washington DC, I remember I found $20 laying on the ground. It made my day!

Found a lonely, run over US penny the other day. Interesting coincidence since I was going to the coin shop. The highest street find I've got is a 50 kr note and most interesting was a mud-covered 1968 1 Krona coin, silver! I'm amazed I even picked up that that round mud piece was a coin

Last Wednesday - while out for my daily walk -- I found 77 cents -- and I stooped to pick up each and every one of them -- near the curb at a Middle School.
They were all wet and I don't think there is a keeper in the whole lot of them. I set aside about 15 coppers that hadn't started to rot yet. I'll check for varieties and errors some day.

A little addiction of mine is scanning the ground for coins. The best find was 20 € bill just in fornt of my bank. Among coins I mostly find 1 cent coins, mostly at stores or parking lots or gas stations. The funniest find happened this April, when I went to Budapest by train. Beneath my seat I found one Ukrainian, and several Hungarian and Euro coins (thank god there were no other passangers nearby) :D

Found a newer dime in the parking lot at work last night. Also found a mid 90s penny inside work the same night. Neither was special, but .11 cents is .11 cents.

Total finds from school this week: $4.38 in change and a 20 dollar bill (I find money at school practically every day, so I keep everything in my lunch box and empty it every Friday)

I found a 1902 Indian Head penny 40 years ago on the ground, and I still remember it with a smile!

I found $20 in Walmart. A couple years ago, when I still lived in Israel, I found 100 shekels when I got off the bus in a tour in Jerusalem. I found two wallets on parking lots and turned them in to the police.

I eyeball dozens of coins on top of the ground while out detecting. I found a 10k white gold necklace on the parking lot, also last week found a pendant with 14K insert, at the park on top of the ground.
Couple years back I found three $20 bills beneath the ATM.

My highest value ground find so far is a $20 bill I found several years ago. I was a starving student at the time so this was a most welcome find. My most useful ground find was a genuine Swiss Army knife that I still have and use, this was nearly 30 years ago. My most interesting find was an old cast iron cover plate for a wood burning cook stove I found while metal detecting, I was a young teenager then. All of my ground find coins so far have been common pocket change, nothing really stands out.
