I think I've finally got enough cents to put together a cent collection. I wanted to confirm that Canada does NOT use mint marks like the US. For example to put together a set I just need one of each year? I know in my older cents I found some 1947 cents that had a maple leaf by the date, I heard this means it was made in 48. Do the Elizabeth cents have one offs like this I need to watch for to have a complete set?
I read these and it looks like starting in 2002 there may be a P mark and each year has magnetic and non magnetic coins?
Thanks. I guess I spoke too soon. I have about $45 FV of CND cents but only $1 was after 96! Most of the post 96 I've found were in awful shape with verdigris, probably due to their composition. I should be good with the copper ones though.
I'd recommend using the search function on this site.. there has been some excellent lists put out in the past by other members of all the different years, varieties, mint marks and finishes.
