Hi all, Can anyone tell me if this is a true error or just a damaged coin?

Thanks for the input, much appreciated! Just found it in some pocket change and thought it looked weird.

From the look and location of it, it could be tape residue. Soak it in distilled water for a day and see if it lifts away.

and yes. I agree it isn't an error, just some glue or gunk.
