A total of 45,000 Trade dollars were issued in 1979 for the city of Sudbury. Of those, the vast majority are the nickel-plated version. There was a small release of copper Trade dollars, and these are quite scarce on their own, with examples fetching $20-$25 (about 10 times that of the normal Ni-plated Trade dollar).

This is a pretty cool item. It is a copper Trade dollar, struck off-centre with a partial collar. It is also a large token, larger than a silver dollar in size.

Yes it is. I gave it a toluene bath (acetone causes a photochemical reaction with copper) and it is much better condition now, the coin has a gem toned surface with lots of lustre...
