MS? RD?
It has great lustre.
What do you think this will grade at PCGS?

A large number of these never saw any circulation, and are therefore relatively common in uncirculated condition.
Common for the lions' faces to be not well struck up. That is not the case here.

Very difficult to find these without any carbon spots at all; at least that is my experience.
As I understand it PCGS grade by the lowest condition side, in this case that would be the reverse.

One or two minor dings,
MS63 red.

I was going to guess MS-65 red, but the spots might make it a 63.

I have seen quite a few around AU50-MS63, but the MS65RD example is the best I have seen now.
It seems there will all always be at least one small carbon spot.
For this one, I will say MS63 or 4. There is no darkening on the ridges on the shield.

I have put both coins together and the ungraded coin is more lustrous, has a better "Colour" and has a better strike.
The carbon spot on the reverse IS a distraction.
Technically (In my view) the ungraded coin is better than the MS65RD one But that Blasted carbon spot will cause it to loose points in the eye appeal department I think David

I am on holidays at Point Samson at the moment and will be travelling to Broome and if weather permits (Cyclones) I will visit the Kimberlies before heading home when I will send this coin off to PCGS to be graded.

I don't see why it wouldn't grade red 65.
