My name is Matt. I'm from Virginia. I have collected old toys and comics in the past, but now have been bitten by the coin bug.

I enjoy bank roll hunting (cents). It is exciting to find wheats, Canadians and I even found one Indian cent.

Looking forward to learning!

What part of VA are you from? I'm looking to meet some collecting buddies local to me.

I'm in Harrisonburg, nice to meet you all!

A question about 1943 steel cents brought me here. I got a cheap bag of them at a shop. Most of them are in pretty rough condition and I noticed one or two of them had a fairly shiny appearance. I have heard some were redipped? How shiny should they be?

Some steel cents were reprocessed post-mint so that is probably what you have. Not my area of expertise but I'm sure the guys in the Modern U.S. section can explain better.
