*** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ****** Edited by Staff to clarify topic title. Titles are important! ***Hello all, I was recently sorting some loose change and came across a coin so I decided to google it. To my surprise there was a huge range of prices, from 1$ to upwards of $300+! If anyone can help me out with what I actually have in my possession that would be great. I just want to know what I have! The condition/grade, legitimacy of the coin and a better idea of how much it's worth. Look forward to hearing from the community!

Great change find! Keeper for sure but unfortunately worth only about a buck or two.

strap yourself in and enjoy the adventures to come. NICE, MS64 probably. Check the '4s', can't tell for certain but could be something there.

Hard to tell with the glare on the coin, can you provide pictures that are not as shinny and directly overhead? It almost looks like cleaning lines on the REV. Welcome and a nice find in loose change.

Can't tell the grade from this angle...
But what you've got there is one nice nickel... the coin features 3 written languages.. English, Latin & morse code.

Surprised at people saying MS. Very hard with the glare on the coin but it looks like a slight bit of wear on the cheek to me so I'd say AU, still nice coin. I'd say 1-2 dollars on the open market.

If there is no wear on the cheek, it could be MS-64. That said, even if it were to grade MS-64, you'd probably only get about $10 on ebay after its graded. Unfortunately, grading would likely cost you at least $10. Therefore if you want to sell it, it would be better to sell in raw (i.e. ungraded) for a couple of dollars. Here are some prices for graded 1944 5-cent coins sold on ebay... http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...&Send=Search

I'm guessing that would be an upgrade from mine.
In my books, that would be a good score, even if book only put it at 5c!
