seal006 Pillar of the Community United States 1915 Posts	Posted 12/27/2015 09:23 am For those that do not speak German: What is this? Digging through some rolls this morning, I stumbled across this 1986-D Lincoln Cent. What is that to the Southeast of the mint mark. My guess is just a gas bubble, but it does not look like most of the gas bubbles I come across in my daily searches. It seems awlfully straight and oddly placed. When I first saw it I assumed it was a chip, but it is not touching the mint mark at all. What do you think? Report this Post to the Staff

That happens when the die moves a bit and leaves the lines you see from metal moving. (Kind of like how when you rub a butter knife across soft butter, you can see lines like these because they are on a knife) Just MD. Report this Post to the Staff
