My father in law gave me this one...

Weird-PMD...-What-Happened?

Weird-PMD...-What-Happened?

Weird-PMD...-What-Happened?

It's obviously lead a hard life, but neither of us can figure out how it can be so beat up, yet still have so much detail...

I just figured that something that chewed up a coin so bad would have destroyed most of the detail... The thing is so "smashed" it's almost as big as a nickel... yet it still has most of the detail...

I was going to say 'road kill'.
However, I have never seen a road kill grow as much in diameter with such a comparatively small amount of damage.
It's 22% bigger in area; that's a lot.

Won't pass judgement just yet.
Needs to be weighed.
Rest in Peace

While a lot of us like to guess at what happened, the fact is that there is no way to know for certain.

Here's another coin that is larger than normal but retains normal looking devices. https://goccf.com/t/216119

Thanks for that link, very interesting!

I agree that there's no way to know for sure, but it's still a very interesting coin to me...
