Hi all, I'm new to the site and found it from a friend who enjoys coin collecting. We happen to be looking through some coins I had gotten and one peaked our interest. It is as listed, a 2014p Everglades quarter, and on the bird side has the circle type stamp as what looks to be normal. On the Washington side though, there is also a stamp of this same circle. I have many coins with this design, of the circle stamp on the photo side, and not on the president side. This is the only one I found out of the ordinary. Photos included to show what it looks like. I have a second quarter in the photos of the same exact type of coin, date and p series, that does not show this characteristic.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this quarter and if this if in fact an error?

I appreciate the help on this.

Jason

Sorry, but it's just roller damage. The coin was on the end of a machine-wrapped roll at some point. Here's a coin I got on the end of a roll- you can see similar damage.

I see what you are saying, but not sure if I got across what I was saying, that large circle on the left coin, Washington side. Is that what you are referring too as well?

Yes, the rollers that are used to roll the coins can leave gouges like that. Yours is more severe than the pic I posted.

The circle is a scratch/gouge caused by a rolling machine.
