Nice circulated 1943 over 2 Jefferson War Nickel.

This over-date was made when a mint worker accidentally rehubbed a die dated 1942 with a 1943 hub. Making it also technically a double die.

You can tell the difference via the flat bottom bar of the 2 and angled line up there is a die crack in same location but that coin lacks the flat bottom bar. You can also note the other devices some doubled thickness as well.

If you got a large lot of War Nickels they are a easy thing to check for by eye and lots of fun.

I now have 5 of these guys

Real deal. Nice find. The two thing to look for on the "2".

You coin even has the same die flow on the end of the 4.

I just re-checked and that is your coin.

Congratulations. What a wonderful find. I've never found even one of these, although I've dug through plenty of War Nickels. There is a reason they are considered scarce. But now they are common since you have a pile of them!
