Guys, look at the reverse of this coin.....specifically the o in dollar.....do you think the gob the o is struck into is maybe a flaw in the metal before striking? Satisfy my curious mind.

Hmm a better pic of the area is needed but I'm going with a retained lamination from these pics as a strikethrough would obliterate part or all of the O

Also, maybe it's just staining from the old cleaning?

Yes, please provide a photo close-up of that area. From the photo provided it looks more like a bit of solution settled in that area and was not wiped away after cleaning, resulting in a "dot" of surface residue.

No can do guys. She's still in the PCGS plastic, and will most likely will stay there until I feel I have enough Morgans in this bunch to warrant the cost of an album.....that'll be awhile yet. Thanks for the effort. 'Bout the only way, right now, to get a closer view of it would be to save it to your own computer, and enlarge it.
