I bought this 1893-s dime and it appears to have doubling in the mintmark. Would this qualify as the S/S variety? If so, would it be worth paying the extra attribution fee if it was slabbed? Thanks for looking!

Sure looks like an s/s but need a better close up. PCGS shows a faded s much farther to the east. You would also need to show good pics of both sides of the coin for us to make a determination if it's worth sending in for attribution.

As this coin is a relatively minor error that would warrant a "details" grade due to surface damage, I would not be one to pay the freight for slabbing. This is a known variety, and if memory serves me, there's a triple "S" variety, too. Let's see what others say ...

Here are full pictures of the obverse and reverse. Unfortunately my cellphone camera cannot zoom any closer than what you see in the first picture. I paid $40 on ebay and could still return it.

I live in Tampa where ICG is, so I would be able to get it graded for $17 ($10 + $7 for attribution, no shipping expense) if it would be worth it in the long run.
