Recently got this 1944 5 cents, the hairlines on either side of the ear are perfect, so are the beads and detail in the crown. I don't have much experience grading these, and I know the value varies greatly between Unc. and not quite Unc. coins. Is this one quite or not quite?
Please note the horizontal lines are an effect of the flash and plastic holder the coin is in.

Nice...there were only 286K of those minted, a relatively small coinage for a 20th C. coin! I find grading these coins rather tough from XF-AU because I'm unfamiliar with this portrait. I have heard that the first signs of circulation wear appear on the brim of the crown. If the brim shows very little wear with those minute jewels intact, I think that would qualify as AU.
