Yes, it's one of the big rarities... I don't even like Barbers (in the grades I can afford the rare ones they look - sorry JBuck - just a big blob head like an Ike)... but that one, well if you gave it to me I would make an exception :-)

I'd rather have the money than the coin. I can buy what I actually want to collect, investments in other areas would make better dividends, and a Ferrari sure drives better than a 1894 S dime ( just kidding about that last one )
Rest in Peace

I always admired the 1894-S Barber dime. I would rather own this dime then to own one of the 1804 silver dollars.

a 10 cent coin worth $2 mil raises questions....

these little pieces of metal with marks on them.....

why do we go nuts over them?

do we "collect" to accumulate wealth?

or do we "collect" in an attempt to possess something that no one else has?

the act of collecting must satisfy something in each of us who "collect"

what is it?

"The San Francisco mint made about 2.5 million of these dimes, but fewer than 10 are still known to exist, according to Heritage."
From the CNN story. Lol. Only off by about 2,499,976.

They only made 25 not 2.5 million. That is one amazing coin, hopefully I hit this 800 million $ powerball tonight so I can buy it.

I'd much rather have the ice cream dime IMHO.
