Whilst going through my loose change I found a weird looking 1p coin
Silver and copper dater 2015. Could anyone tell me anything about it? Thankyou

I've never seen any like this before, it's sort of the colour of a 5p but it's a penny

Put a magnet to it. That will confirm what rooneydog is telling you. In the US we have copper plated zinc. All of it to keep costs low. What is that design on the reverse?

Obv: Fourth Portrait, inscription ELIZABETH II DEI GRA REG FID DEF (date) starting low left. Initials JC below bust. No beading.
Rev: Left side of the Royal Arms, ONE PENNY to the left
Copper plated steel, first issued in 2015. 2015 seen in circulation,

I think it's only partially plated on the portrait side (although it doesn't look obvious from the pictures) - an error from the mint.
