So I think it is about VF30-XF40, based off photograde and the poor poor pictures. Sometimes that's where the good deals are though?

So CCF, what do you think about this dime? Grade? Value? Too risky?

Let me know, all comments welcome.

My "guesstimates" would be VF+ Details - Improperly Cleaned. Value would be about $10 retail.

I agree with the assessment that this coin has been cleaned at some point in the past, and it is vest that you pass on this one.

I just bought an AU 1886 Dime with bad pics. I saw a sliver of lustrous rainbow-toned goodness, so I went for it. I'll find out how well I did when it eventually arrives.

Just curious what makes you say it is cleaned.

I'm not doubting, just still trying to learn. Is it because the faces are a bit lighter colored than the edges and around the devices.

It's right around $10 right now on ebay, ends tonight. I'm going to scrap it. I need a Seated dime for my type set. I don't need it tonight. If the consensus was original, I'd probably make a bid for it. I like it.

I don't need to have my curiosity cost me.
