What do you think of my LCS purchase? I really am contemplating buying his whole junk silver bucket it has mostly Canadian and British, but other countries as well and could be worth a bit more than spot like these two. I know these two are cleaned but still pretty sweet for being so old! 1855 Bavaria 2 Gulden and 1913 Saxony 3 Marks.

If you don't go back and buy the bucketful, send us the contact info for the store! #128525;#128539;
Old coins are great even when some misguided person cleaned them.

Right now, I'd buy any silver at spot if there was no premium. Nice looking older coins are certainly no exception!

What is the total ASW for the whole lot?
Multiply that number by the current spot price.
Just remember that when selling those you do not want, a bullion dealer will only offer you a percentage below the spot price, so that he can make his own profits.

Better to sell those you do not want,in manageable job lot sizes, to other members here in the CCF, who would be more than happy to take them off your hands. This way, you may be well able to sell at some reasonable %age above the spot value.

I think there was maybe a Russian coin or two. Don't know too much off the bat about them but recognized the two headed bird thing from my one USSR coin. Lol the only problem with trying to buy it all is tying up that much money at once but I can at least get an idea of what it would cost. Might be kind of hard too all different %s of silver in those coins hope it would get calculated correctly. I would at least need to make sure to do it before they get sent off to melting..

Nice find. Buy what you can afford - never spend the kids lunch money or the money for the wife's next hair dresser appointment. You can get in BIG trouble that way.

I can tell you one thing. You can not get these at the spot price in Europe.

The person who has sold these must have been a very bad numismatist or just a silver dealer.

The bavarian column thaler is very popular and I would pay you triple the silver price in that condition (as a dealer, a collector would pay way more).

Well all of their foreign stuff goes into their junk melt bucket and is sold for spot. Finding these two coins makes me really consider buying up all the stuff. It would be a lot though but worst case at spot price I wouldn't lose anything.
