Hi I'm very wet behind the ears on coin collecting as in only started afew months ago and decided to try do aworld coinfamily tree, I started asking people for there odd change jars including US coin as I'm in Ireland, earlier today alady gave me a loose change bag. In it were 2 1970S mark nickels.
1 is well used but with a blurry S mint mark, 2nd nickel is alot cleaner and S mint mark well clear
Sorry no pictures as of yet.

Just wondering was that just beginners luck #127808;

While the 1970-S nickel is not as common as it's 1970-D brother, there were still over 200 million minted, so they are not rare by any means. They are not really worth much, unless you have one in the upper grades. Look on the reverse at the steps of Monticello. If you can clearly see all the steps, then you have an exceptional coin that may be worth more than face value.
