I recently bought a Superbird 1952 Proof Washington quarter. Its in an Unattributed NGC slab, but the S is there. It is pretty difficult to photograph since it is small and does not stand out in relief well. PF 64.

Okay, I'll admit it. I didn't know what a superbird was, so I had to look it up. Nice find.
Rest in Peace

Good eye! They can be hard to see -- but once you spot the S -- yipee!

Enjoy!

Don't you need to let the eagle find a telephone booth so he can change first before the S is visible?

Seriously, what's a telephone booth?

Haven't seen one in ages.

It is believed a mint worker etched the proof die to create the "S". Attributed as FS-901. A greater rarity is to find a FS-902 superbird with reworked tail feathers. Both are only found in the proof 1952 quarter.
