Ikes are my favorite set! I have a complete PCGS Registry Set with a MS-64 1972 Type 2... I found that one raw and had it graded myself. It felt great when I got that one back.

cjweber that's a nice find. That will probably never leave your collection I bet. A couple more showed up today for my ever growing set.

@Davec13 As of right now it will never leave my set, but I am always looking to upgrade and always searching for new raw Ikes to get graded. I made the biggest mistake ever once sending in about 42 Ikes to get graded by SEGS... they came back with some of the lowest grades I have ever seen and they were completely undeserving. I am going to just send them all to PCGS to cross-over along with a few more raw Ikes I have picked up along the way. I upgrade my Ikes whenever I get a chance. But your two Ikes sure are pretty and would definitely upgrade my set ;)

@Davec13, If you don't mind me asking, how much did you offer him for the 1973-D R N Lockey Collection Ike? he has a couple more I am interested in and I'm curious what his wiggle room is...

He is really easy going from the dealings I've had with him. Send him what you think is fair and if it's to low he will counter. Good luck on getting some upgrades.

Slowed down a bit lately, but these were waiting for me when I made it home. Some are doubles maybe trade fodder down the road. Enough babbling here are the pictures. My first top pop coin.

I do not mind the babbling as long as we eventually see the pictures.

I'm now 11 coins away from a complete graded basic circulation and proof set. I may end up trying for the variety set once the basic set is complete.
I have a dansco completed, but the slabs look nice too.

I have a complete PCGS registry set with major varieties but you have been finding some Gems! I can't wait to find a few top pops to add to mine!

Wow again! Did you get those from Heritage? I think I remember seeing the "Sonoran Monsoon" specimens being offered through them. I'm beginning to think that eventually I'll even be able to own a PR70 Ike. I'm hopeful. Their numbers appear to be growing across all dates. I remember just a few years ago I couldn't find a PR70 Ike available anywhere. I knew that a few existed, but seeing one was like seeing a rare bird in the wild. Usually I would find ended Heritage auction listings for a PR70 Ike. Some of these PR70 Ikes are now going for under $1000. This has only happened recently, to the best of my knowledge. I'm wondering if the grading on these is not as tight as it once was. I'm not saying that your 1972-S isn't a PR70. I'm just wondering if some of mine would grade PR70 now. I've looked at mine with a loupe, and for the life of me, I can detect no flaws whatsoever in at least 3 of them. But I also understand that it's harder to truly view them through a slab. To tell you the truth, though, I'm not confident enough to send them in for a reconsideration. I'm very much looking forward to seeing what you obtain next. Good stuff!
