1842-D XF 45 quarter eagle. Only 4,643 coins were struck for the year at the Dahlonega Mint, and it is thought that fewer than 100 coins survive in all grades. I purchased this a few years ago. JFH

Beautiful, rare, and valuable gold piece. Many Dahlonega coins have strike problems but this one has strong detail. Looks solid for the assigned grade; congratulations!

Nice coin. One of the better dates in the Dahlonega QE series.
