I have two samples of different Mint marks.
Question is, which one is the more common one.
Or are they both as common.

skinny D above the 5 from the date

fat D offset from the 5 from the date

600 million coins, over 600 dies, each with the mintmark punched in by hand means possibly 600 slightly different mintmark positions.

That's a fairly distinct difference. Cool.

When did MMs stop being punched by hand?

1989 was the last year they were done by hand. Which is why you can't find RPMs after 1989.

Wait a minute: if there were 6 million coins struck that came from 600 dies, doesn't that come out to 1,000,000 of that type of offset coins? Or am I calculating it wrong?
