@stampvirgin, I thought about doing something straightforward like that... but then came to the conclusion that ASEs are one of the favorite parts of my collection and that I may as well jazz their display up. I really did an about-face from the first post of this thread. Hey, if Presidential candidates can change their mind on important stuff, I can change my mind on this. Don't get me wrong, your solution is excellent and is light years better than what I'm doing now (OGP boxes scattered all over the safe that maybe get opened once every 5 years). Thank you for the suggestion.

Can't wait to see the pics. If you are including proofs in this set, the Air Tites and Caps album are definitely they way to go if you want max projection and nice eye appeal for your collection (and let's not to forget the original purpose of saving space).

Quote: If you are including proofs in this set... Yep, I am. That's pretty much what's taken me down the CAPS path. If it was just bullion I'd probably go for a Dansco or Whitman Classic. With the proofs I'm concerned about keeping the coins as pristine as possible.

The CAPS box finally showed up on the front porch this morning. It's looking like tonight will be a lot of fun.

Ok, starting to get some of these guys popped in. A few photos and some observations. First the observations. 1. This is the first time I've looked at some of these Proof ASEs in 10+ years. Some of them are starting to exhibit a little bit of toning. 2. The CAPS album pages are nice and rigid. They will stand up well to the weight of 16 ounces per page. 3. The album is advertised as being it being simple to pop Air-Tites in and out at will. I'm not so sure about that. Once those capsules are locked in the page, I don't see an easy way to remove them. I have to be very careful to make sure they're aligned properly. Update: I misplaced one and had to remove it from the socket. Took a minute but I was able to work it out with pressure from the back. Wouldn't want to do that very often. 4. Similarly the Air-Tites are a very, uh, tight fit. Not sure how I'd get those apart if I ever wanted to return the coins to their OGP. Perhaps the blade of an Xacto knife. 5. When I opened my 2006 Burnished, I was surprised to find that the packaging inside the box was a little velvet bag instead of the normal press-fit packaging. Is this normal? This was purchased direct from the US Mint. 6. As shipped from CAPS, the Air-Tites were loose in Zip-Lock bags separated by tops and bottoms. As such, some of them had "bag marks". And now a couple photos: Products removed from shipping box. You can see the loose Air-Tites in the Zip-Locks. A few ASEs popped into the album pages.

Looks good. Those albums are really big.

They are indeed big. But they take up less room than the OGP, which is good.

That is certainly something that I did not immediately consider. I do not think they are too big, just really big, especially compared to the equivalent Dansco albm. Then again, a Dansco album is really big compared to the equivalent folder.

This is true, but I suspect a Dansco only has 9 ASEs per page as well.
I was able to fill a few more holes last night with some nice bullion ASEs I've picked up over the past few years. Will post another pic or two later.

You are correct... http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/pro...-dollar.htmlThis is one way I could tell how big your album is, actually basing on on the nine-per-page in my Eisenhower Dansco. Realized when posting my pic in the other CAPS thread that I never did go back and add any more photos of my two to this thread as promised, so I'm adding them here 7 months later. My observations and commentary may help someone decide whether or not to jump into CAPS. The two CAPS albums (2228 & 2229) in my safe along with some Dansco and Whitman Classic albums for size reference: The completed 1st page of the 2229. This is the first page that I have fully populated in either album. I must say, I do like the look.

Better late than never. Those Dansco Currency albums still freak me out though.

I know... it just doesn't sit well. I've gotten used to it, though.

At least they are just currency albums and nothing important like coins. Just kidding.
