Any chance for some better photos? Hard to tell surface quality with these.

Tone is solid dark - nearly maroon. Had a check of a time, even w dark background, to get much detail showing.

A lot of obverse chatter besides all that heavy toning. looks like the 8 took a hit on bottom. I'm going to abstain a grade on this one and see what everybody else says.

AU-50, maybe 53. Interesting coin. Possible AT?

I consider this one a gamble to NGC. Tone in hand is solid. No hints of corrosion. Ill probably hope for a 45, but I do agree it's a tough one. Thanks to all for your continued help in narrowing down my submissions.

High XF detail, but I do not care for the toning.

Small flat areas from wear on the high points of the design, both sides. AU53. Color would make it harder to sell for grade.

I'll say AU53 on this one. Not sure on the color and how close it is to actual.

Looks like AU detail but the toning is a big negative IMO. I'd suspect environmental damage, excessive dipping followed by retoning, or an AT attempt that went badly. I wouldn't bother submitting if the photos are reasonably accurate. Maybe professional conservation would help but if it were mine I'd sell. With the sale proceeds plus money not spent on grading you could buy a pleasing, no-problem example of this common date.
